The word “frameless” or “seamless” refers more to the thickness and style of the shower enclosure rather than a literal description.
Frameless shower doors typically use 3/8” or 1/2″ tempered glass. The thicker glass provides more stability and requires less support from surrounding metal compared to framed or semi-frameless shower enclosures.
For pivot door enclosures, 2 hinges are used to attach the door to the wall or the glass and either “U” channel or a “Clamp” system mounting method is used to secure the stationary panels in place. Both are very effective and most choose one or the other based upon how they look.
